8th April 2000, River Laver.
Wes & I managed to get out to the Laver for a early season’s fishing. The river was quite high, but nice and clear. There were very few trout rising, but I had 5 fish at my fly before finally landing a grayling. In Beck Pool, I was broken off by what seemed to be a biggish fish!
Wes caught 2 brownies, one in the Beck, and another in the pool below the flood channel.
The fish were taken on the usual hare’s ear variants.
