This fish was caught shortly after noon in the Kingbird Pool of the Red & White Post Canal complex. The fish took a Red Throat Triple Seven and was the first of the season.

 A red throated Triple Seven accounted for this tarpon, which put up a good struggle on the 7 weight trout rod. The fish was landed in the main canal, adjacent to the Kingbird Pool.

 This was my first landing of this species, in fact I had not seen them before this trip to Cayman. Despite spending a lot of time in the appropriate waters, I have never seen them before. The fish was smaller than the 3 specimens that I had seen in the canal earlier, and over at Barker’s Point on my last trip there.
